This area is absolutely breathtaking and is a great place to relax and unwind with the loved ones in your life.

Here, we’ve compiled an entire guide to the best activities to experience in the area, whether you’re traveling with young kids, teenagers, or only adults. And hopefully, you can then make a more informed decision on which event or activity you’d like to take on first when on this island.
Visit the Beach
Get your lotion, chair, and towel handy; the surf n’ sun is beckoning you. Make a visit to the beach near our Jekyll Island vacation rentals, this island has quite a few beaches to choose from. You can try out Driftwood Beach, Sharktooth Beach, or even the Great Dunes Beach Park, all guaranteeing a fun-filled afternoon in the sunshine with your loved ones. Take your pick! Just remember to pack some water and take it with you; stay hydrated as it can get quite hot at certain hours, making for that perfect tan you wanted, after all!
Jekyll Island Sea Turtle Center
Can someone say, “turtle, turtle”? Well, if you like turtles, then it would be a true crime for you to miss out on seeing some of the most beautiful ones on Jekyll Island, such as the ones here at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center. And guess what else? It is not hard to plan a visit to this spot at all! It’s open during the regular business hours of 9 to 5, all 7 days a week! So that gives you plenty of options when planning.
To add to that, did you know that the staff here at the Jekyll Island Sea Turtle Center allows you and your kids to have an interactive experience. All safety and health precautions have already been put in place to allow you to get up close and personal with the animals and really enjoy yourself while there. They take good care of their turtles there every single day.
Summer Waves Waterpark
Summer is not truly summer without the Summer Waves Waterpark in Jekyll Island, GA, especially if you want to enjoy some time in the sunshine but take a break from the beach. This place is also not to be missed on your list of spots to go to. Best of all, they are open all 7 days of the week, as well, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (with only the exception of Sundays, in which they open just one hour later at 11 a.m., but still have the same closing time).
One of the most esteemed rides, families say, is the Pirates’ Passage. Try to go on that one first and get your visit there off to a good start. Also, while you are at it, give the lazy river tubing a try. Try and save that event for the end of the day, when you are tired from riding everything else and walking around all day! This lazy little river is perfect for allowing your mind to slow down and calm itself after a stressful week of having your boss yell at you at work.
Jekyll Island Mini Golf
Still want more Jekyll Island things to do, besides what we’ve just covered? Well, there’s also the incredible Jekyll Island mini-golf.
Try your best to get a hole-in-one here at the good, ol’ faithful Jekyll Island Mini Golf. You get 18 different holes to play across, and you can take your time making your way to every single one. If you are with your family or your friends, try to compete with them and be that first person to get the ball in the hole every time. A little competitive spirit from time to time isn’t a bad thing! The point is to have fun while challenging yourself to do better and better with each hole or try. And if you’ve finished a course and wish to go a second round with your group, just go back up to the main reception desk where you initially signed up and paid. They will get you started on that second course at half price. You can keep having fun while also saving some money at the same time. There’s also a free playground here for your kids to have even more fun after you get done with mini-golf.

Take a Dolphin Tour
Have you ever experienced a dolphin tour? If not, then that is perfectly all right there is, as they say, a first time for everything. Dolphin tours are some of the best activities for getting your entire family out on the water and creating an interest in nature and wildlife. Even if you don’t happen to see any dolphins on your tour, you’re still bound to have an incredible time out on the water!
The dolphin tours are about getting close to dolphins or other marine life. While your vessel passes by dolphins, you often can see these dolphins jump out of the water at random. They are peaceful creatures that love to get your attention. But please just remember not to feed them as that is not allowed. You can get either a group tour or just a singles’ private tour. The trained tour experts have your safety needs in mind. They will guide you properly throughout the tour, answering any questions that you might come up with along the way. 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. is typically when you can get such a tour. You can also do it any day of the week!
