Horseback riding here is a family-friendly activity. Riders as young as 3 years old can join in! Most rides have an average of 6 people, but you can book a group of 20+ people if you’ve got a large party, with discounts available for groups of 10 or more. In addition to their staple Beach Rides, they also offer narrated tours, camps, lessons, events, and even weddings!
Horseback Rides on the Beach
Golden Isles offers four different types of rides: Beach Ride, Sunset Beach Ride, Beach & Forest Ride, and Moonlight Ride.
For a Beach Ride, you can choose either a 1- or 1.5-hour excursion. These tours take you along the stunning Driftwood Beach on your gentle, well-trained horse. Your guide will be there with you to ensure you’re always safe and having fun! Public tours cost $65 each for the 1-hour tour or $95 each for the 1.5-hour tour.
The Sunset Beach Ride is all the fun of the classic ride but with the added bonus of an absolutely gorgeous sunset. 1-hour Sunset Beach Rides cost $85 each, and 1.5-hour trips cost $125 each.
You can also embark on the 3-hour Beach & Forest Ride, where you’ll get a more well-rounded taste of Jekyll Island’s nature. You’ll see the gorgeous beaches as well as the lush, inviting forests that serve as home for tons of Georgia wildlife. These excursions are only available as private rides for $395.
Finally, you can participate in a Moonlight Ride. These journeys last one hour and will give you an unmatched view of the beach and ocean under the beautiful moonlight. It’s an experience that is sure to provide unforgettable memories! Moonlight Rides cost $110 each for a public ride.
